Today is 16th Octobria, 12AS...a Eponaday

"Eponaday is The First Day. Epona is a very ancient Celtic Goddess of Horses. She is chosen because The Horse is central to Amazon Culture. She starts off the week with the symbolic 'getting back in the saddle'."

"Let us look at the structure of the week itself. The First, Second and Third Days are the 'official' Work Week for business, school, etc. On the Weekend, the Fourth Day is half and half; morning and early afternoon for finishing up the Work Week and the late afternoon and evening for playing and partying. The Fifth Day is not a religious holiday per se, but rather meant to be a day of relaxation and reflection."

Random Lite

~This 'damp heat' is exhausting me. It defeats the swamp cooler because of its humidity. I was actually feeling sick this afternoon. And I'm 'hungover' this evening. And we're supposed to have four more days like today or worse. *sigh*

Saying anymore on the matter would just amount to whining...

Life in The Desert [redux]

~It is presently 81° and 27% humidity. It was 72° when I woke up less than an hour ago. Not a good sign. However, the humidity also dropped by six points in that window. Let's hope that trend continues a pace.

Life in The Desert

~It is presently 108° and 11% humidity. That latter number is making a major difference. And a hat-tip to Mrs Ralph for reminding me to cross vent the fans. Stuck one in the far living room window and it's much much cooler in the whole joint. My afternoon nap was very pleasant.

I'm kicking myself - though only just a little - as I did the same thing at Sonja to cool the place off, fans blowing out on each end of the house. But we've been pretty out of it and I'll be kind to myself just this once. *smirk*

Plus it's looking like it might rain out there. We'll see...
