Theresa kneels, Pukes into the Toilet, Giggles between
'heaves', Gretchen on the floor next to her, smiling.

Sarah sits, eyes closed, in a Lotus Position, while Megan
kneels behind her, massaging her neck and shoulders.

Mmm, this is total heaven.
Megan moves around, puts her arms across Sarah's chest.

into laughter again. Megan enters.

Gretchen and Theresa suppress their laughter, look at Sarah
with forced seriousness.

Hello? Brain Dead!
They collapse back into hysterical laughter. Sarah is
stunned for a moment, then starts laughing so hard she
can't breath. Megan has a 'Giggling fit'.

SOUND of HYSTERICAL LAUGHTER ECHOES through the house.

SOUND of LAUGHTER FADES into B/G. The Living Room is illu-
minated only by Candles. The Women kneel in a circle, eyes
closed, holding hands. They Sway and Chant.

A BLINDING FLASH of LIGHTNING fills the room, a DEAFENING
CRASH of THUNDER shakes the house. SOUND of CAR ALARMS
going off outside. Gretchen looks serious. Theresa and
Megan seem 'freaked out'.

(grins)
Holy shit! That was so fucking rad!
LIGHTNING FLASHES and THUNDER CRASHES again, Loud, but not
as close.
theresa
Did we do that?
Sarah
(smiling)
Dude, we totally did that!
theresa
Fuck, man. This is too intense for me. I'm
going to hide under my blankets.
(gets up)
Good night, girls. It's been freaky.
She exits. Megan, looking pale, watches her go.

Maybe we should all go to bed. It's been
an intense few days.
Sarah looks 'bummed'.

Sarah lays in Bed, lights off, staring at the ceiling. It's
still RAINING HARD. The door opens, and Theresa sticks her
head it.

I'm freaking out.
Sarah
(pats the Bed)
Come on.
Theresa comes in, closes the Door, slips into Bed next to
Sarah. Sarah puts her arms around her.
Sarah
(warmly)
You can stay as long as you like.
SOUND of THUNDER. Theresa jumps a little. Sarah hugs her,
kisses her forehead.
Sarah
It's okay.

(smiles shyly)
Thunder has scared me since I was a little
girl. It always made me feel like God was
angry.
Sarah
I grew up out in the desert, so I could
see the lightning, and hear the thunder
coming from far off. The sharp gold flash-
ing against grey and purple clouds. It always
looked so beautiful that it never occurred
to me to be scared. I knew that it was danger-
ous, but, I guess that just got me excited.
And I love the rain.
Theresa
(looks at her tenderly)

Sarah
(quiet)
Thanks.
They look into each other's eyes.
theresa

Sarah

They kiss lightly, then with passion.

Sarah and Theresa, naked and sweaty, kiss deeply. They

Megan stands outside of Sarah's door, listening. MUFFLED
SOUND of MOANING and GASPING. Megan looks 'heart-broken',
begins to Cry. Her hand hovers over the Doorknob, but she

The Room is dark. Megan, bathed in the Cold Light of her
Television, sits in bed, under the covers. She stares
blankly at the screen.
ON THE SCREEN: SARAH'S BEDROOM - NIGHT: C/U of Sarah
and Jessica on the Bed, Naked. Sarah is half on top of Jessica,
who has a 'well laid' look.

Sarah smiles, reaches across Jessica to her Sidetable,
takes a large Black Vibrator out of the Sidetable Drawer.

She's naked from the waist, wears a Rope and a Dish Towel
as a loincloth 'Tarzan style', a Leather Belt diagonally
across her chest, a Fencing Sword hung on it, holds a
Broomhandle as a 'spear'. Theresa in her "Lucky Smock",
is Painting a Portrait of Sarah as a Tattooed Amazon Angel,
with Broad White Wings, standing on the Edge of a Cliff
looking at an Army Marching upon the Plain below. Megan
enters, looks a little surprised, realizes what's going on.

Megan looks at the Painting, amazed.

She plops down behind the wheel, goes through her Bag,
retrieves a Pack of Cigarettes, lights one, takes a big
drag, exhales deeply, sighs, starts the Car.
int. club - night
It's a funky little Hollywood watering hole. Megan stands
at the Bar with a beer and a cigarette, looks mean and
miserable. A couple of GUYS, 20's, 'check her out', then
seem to change their minds. She see someone, smiles. SUZY
RAY, 30, attractive, but 'burnt out', comes up to Megan,
smiles. They hug.

God, it's been a long fucking time, honey.
How are you doing?
megan
Can't complain. Job's cool. Nice place to
live. I'm okay I guess. What about you,

Suzy
(laughs humorlessly)
Band's gone, done, finished.

Suzy stares off into Smoke and Rock n' Roll, then looks
back at Megan.

Megan
(hands her the pack)

Suzy makes a 'grateful face', lights a cigarette, takes a
drag.

Man, I was dying for one of these.
(looks at Megan seriously)

Suzy's eyebrows go up.

The Building has see better days. Megan and Suzy climb
stairs, Megan rather more easily.

The Hallway is dingy, has some "tags", a few burnt out
Bulbs. The climb has almost killed Suzy.

SOUND of LOCKS UNLOCKING. The Door opens, revealing ALAN
STEADMAN, 30, tall, handsome, Shaved Head, 'cruel eyes'.
He ignores Suzy, looks at Megan intensely.

int. alan's apartment - night
It's a 'bachelor': neat, clean, extremely "Spartan". Some
Amps, a couple of Bass Guitars are off to one side. In the
middle of the Room, a Card Table, some Folding Chairs. On
the Table, several Glass Vials filled with White Powder, a
small Mirror, a Razor Blade and a Straw. Alan pulls out a
Chair for Megan. She smiles, sits. This 'floors' Suzy. He
doesn't do this for her, just sits down. After a beat, she
grabs her own chair, sits, a little miffed. Alan and Megan
are totally focused on each other.
Alan
(indicating the Vials)
I believe this is what you're looking for.
Megan picks a Vial, dumps some powder on the Mirror. She
wets a fingertip, takes a 'taste', nods approvingly.
cut to:
Megan snorts a small "line", sits back, lets it 'settle
in'.
megan
(smiles, eyes 'sparkle')
That's the shit.
cut to:
Megan peels three Bills off a roll of Hundreds, hands them
to Suzy.
megan
Thanks.
Suzy looks at her expectantly.
megan
(indicating the Vials)
Take two.
Suzy smiles broadly, takes two Vials, stands.
suzy
Have fun, kids.
She heads for the door.
cut to:
Alan silently counts out Hundreds. Megan watches him. He
finishes, smiles at her.
megan
Do you have any works?
Alan
I have lots of pre-packaged disposables.
megan
(makes a face)
That's all?
Alan
(smiles slyly)
Actually, no.
cut to:
Alan places a small Leather Carrying Case on the Table.
Megan looks at him questioningly.
Alan
Open it.
She picks it up, unzips it. It folds open to reveal a
"professional set" of Syringes and Needle Points. They
Shine Brightly.
Megan
(mesmerized)
Oh, my God, these are beautiful.
Alan
They're yours.
Megan
(looks at him sharply)
What?
Alan
They were a trade. And I've never used
them. Seems a shame to let them go to waste.
This mollifies her. She takes out one of the Needle Points,
the biggest one, handles it like a fine jewel.
Alan
That's a pretty big spike.
megan
(smiles coyly)
I like them big.

C/U: POT of BOILING WATER on a HOT PLATE. Alan retrieves
a Syringe with a Pair of Tongs.
cut to:
C/U: COTTONBALL in a bent Table Spoon, the Needle Point in
the Cottonball. Liquid is drawn into the Syringe.
cut to:
Alan taps the full Syringe with his forefinger, places it
in front of Megan. She has already 'tied off', looks at the
Syringe as if it were 'a million miles away'.
megan
Have you ever loved someone so totally and
completely that wanting to be with them
seemed..perfectly natural? But..but alth-
ough this person loved you, would even be
your lover, she..they could never stay,
would always have to move on to someone
else.
(looks at Alan)

Alan

megan
(laughs a little laugh)
I don't know if that's a blessing, or a
tragedy.
Alan

Yeah.
She picks up the Syringe. Tenderly, she slides the Needle
into her skin, sighs contentedly. C/U: the Syringe, a
little Blood swirls into the clear liquid. The Plunger mo-
ves forward a little bit, back again, more Blood swirls in.
cut to:
Alan finishes a cigarette, stubs it out. He watches Megan,
who still 'works' the Syringe. It's almost empty.
Alan
You like pain, don't you?
megan
(looks at him intensely)
What makes you say that?
Alan
(indicates the Syringe)
The way you've been fucking your arm with
that needle for the last fifteen minutes.
She shoots the last little bit, pulls the Needle. She
lights a cigarette.
megan
(looks at him, eyes 'like stone')
I suppose it depends on my mood.
He leans forward, grabs her nipple through her dress with
his thumb and forefinger.
megan
(smiles coyly)

His knuckles whiten as he squeezes hard. Megan draws a
breath sharply, her eyes flutter, starts to make short
gasping breaths. Alan smiles nastily, slowly twists. She
starts to tremble.

She looks at him like a 'lost child'.

Alan

She twitches visibly. In a single fluid motion, he grabs

Megan, in her Japanese Robe, sits on the Steps in front of
the frontdoor, drinking coffee and smoking a cigarette. She
looks like hell, but seems calm.
gretchen (o.s.)

Megan looks around to see Gretchen standing behind her.
Megan
(smiles)
Hello, yourself.
Gretchen sits next to her, looks at the cigarette.
megan

She picks up her Phone, dials, waits.

enters, 'dressed to party'. Sarah looks up, smiles.

Megan, comes over to Sarah, gives her a kiss on the cheek.

She sits next to Sarah.
Sarah
So, what are you doing?
megan
I'm going away for a few days.
Sarah seems a little disappointed.
megan
It's kind of like a retreat. With this
guy I'm seeing.
Sarah
I was hoping we could spend some time
together.
Megan
(takes Sarah's hands)
When I come back, we'll do something.

Sarah

Megan nods. They let go. Megan heads for the door.

She exits. Sarah sighs, sits down, goes back to her
Journal.

Megan drives along a main street. Tears stream down her
cheeks, as she smokes a cigarette.
ext. country road - night
Megan's car goes down this Road in the 'middle of nowhere'.

Megan drives, Alan is in the passenger seat. He points.
Alan
Turn right up here.
ext. house - night
The House sits out in the middle of flat open countryside.
It looks a little like the "Bates' House". Megan's Car
pulls up in front.

Megan turns off the Car, just looks at the House. Alan
reaches into the back seat, retrieves Megan's Bag, holds
out his hand.
Alan
The keys.
She takes the Keys out of the ignition, hands them over.
He puts them in her Bag.
Alan
Your watch.
She takes her watch off, gives it to him. He puts it in the
Bag.
Alan
Take off your underwear.
She hikes her Dress, pulls her Panties down and off, hands
them over. They go in the Bag. Alan smiles, puts his hand

smiles wider.

Alan leads Megan into a "Victorian Style" Room, all Uphol-
stered Leather and Dark Wood. A HALF A DOZEN MEN, 30's to

wearing some combination of Silk, Denim, and Black Leather.
They watch Megan like wolves. Alan brings her to the center
of the Room, steps back.

at the ceiling. She seems 'lost'.

A Television is set up in front of the Fireplace. ON THE
SCREEN: Theresa in a T-shirt with a Leather Belt, stands
holding a Bow in a 'classical pose', fidgeting.
In the Living Room, Theresa, in her "Lucky Smock" is
painting her own Portrait as "Diana, Goddess of the Hunt".
Sarah sits nearby, reading a Script. She half watches
Theresa.
Sarah
(grins broadly)
Dude, you are your own worst model.
theresa
Fuck, man! Tell me about it.
(laughs)

SOUND of FRONT DOOR OPENING. After a moment, Megan enters.
She looks like hell: Pale, with a Bruised Cheek, a Swollen
Lip, a nasty Black Eye. She is nervous and jumpy. Sarah and
Theresa are stunned by her appearance.

Oh, my God! What happened to you?
Megan
(smiles weakly)
I had an accident. I'm going to go lay down.
Alan enters.
Alan
She fell down a hillside while we were
hiking.
Sarah and Theresa immediately don't like him.
Alan
(smiling)
By the way, I'm Alan.
Sarah

Theresa just looks at him silently.
Alan

He half pushes Megan out of the Living Room.

Alan and Megan sit at the Big Table with some food. They
eat in silence. Sarah enters, is startled to see them.
Alan smiles at her. Megan seems 'distracted'.

Sarah basically ignores him, sits by Megan.

How are you doing?
megan
('childlike')
I'm doing okay.
Alan
I'm going to stay with her for a while.
At least until she can go back to work.
Sarah

Megan grabs her Robe, flees the Bathroom. Gretchen is

The Women (minus Megan) sit at the Big Table, looking glum.
Megan enters, dressed for work, though she seems too wobbly
to go anywhere.

I'm going to work. And I just wanted to

No one says anything. Then Sarah gets up. Megan steps back,
as if in fear.

She exits swiftly. The Women look dismayed.

him. Sarah remains standing.

It's three in the afternoon. And there's
no smoking in this house.

We've decided you're leaving.

His eyes bulge in pain. Theresa has stabbed his hand with
an Ice Pick. She holds onto it, keeping his hand pinned to

with a huge, Bloody Gash on his Cheek. Sarah places the
'something' against his temple: a .38 SNUB-NOSED REVOLVER.

On the Walkway, Sarah, Theresa and Gretchen watch quietly.

Sarah is outside of Megan's Bedroom door. It's ajar. She

No answer. She pushes the door open. The room looks like it
was ransacked, dresser drawers half open, Clothes strewn
all over, etc.

Megan sits on the floor. A Spoon holding a Cottonball lays
on the floor next to her. She has 'tied off', is getting
ready to 'shoot up'. Suddenly, she looks up. Sarah stands
in the Bathroom doorway. She looks as though she doesn't
know whether to cry, or to scream. Megan seems consumed
with shame, fumbles with the Needle. Sarah rushes across
the Bathroom, grabs Megan by the shoulders, hauls her to
her feet. Sarah cries with rage, shakes Megan violently.

DON'T YOU FUCKING DO THIS! DON'T YOU

Megan's face is blank. She lets Sarah shake her as if she
was a ragdoll.

Gretchen and Theresa come up behind Sarah, put their arms
around her.

CRYING. Megan hesitates, then knocks. After a beat, Theresa
opens the Door, looks at Megan questioningly.

In B/G, on the Bed, Sarah cries in Gretchen's arms.

She pushes the door closed. Megan stands there, alone.

Megan, on the bed in her Bathrobe, shuffles a Tarot Deck.
She 'cuts' the Deck, picks a Card. It is Death, a Black
Knight with a Skull Face, on a Pale Horse. She touches the
Card gently with her fingertips, as if it were a lover.

Very Hot Water runs into the Tub. Steam fills the Room.
Megan is lighting Candles and Incense. A SAD, MOODY ROCK
SONG PLAYS on her Boom Box (and throughout this scene).

Only the Candles light the Room. The bathroom mirror is
totally fogged up. Megan wipes a space clear with her hand,
looks at her Reflection, pops a handful of Pills, washes
them down with a Beer.

Megan stands before the Tub, which is full of Scalding Hot
Water. The Robe drops off her, she starts to get into the
Water, grimaces, makes little mewling Cries of Pain as she
enters the Water.

Megan is fully in the Tub. She holds up an X-acto Knife.
Her expression is 'a million miles away'.
C/U of BLADE CUTTING into her Wrist. Her other Wrist is
already Bleeding.

Megan sits in the Tub full of Bloody Water, eyes closed,
her complexion Gray: She is gone. The SAD MOODY ROCK SONG
reaches a CRESCENDO, and the Boom Box shuts off. SOUND of
KNOCKING.

The door opens, Sarah enters, sees Megan, Cries out, rushes
to the Tub. She grabs Megan, tries to pull her out.

She realizes Megan is dead, collapses by the Tub, half
holding Megan's body.

Theresa and Gretchen enter at a run.

Sarah holds the covers open. Megan slides into the Bed next
to Sarah, who then lowers the covers on her. They embrace,
hold each other.

Sarah

hands. They seem very happy.

heaven, or some other dimension. And this
huge stone head is in darkness, or is made

"Why?", over and over. And it seems like
I'm doing this for thousands of years. And
then, finally, one..morning, I guess, it's
as if the sun rises somehow, and his face

eyes. And then, his eyes open, and he starts

It is close to Dusk. Sarah and Megan approach a LARGE,
BEAUITFUL HOUSE overlooking the Ocean. There seems to be
a 'low key party' in progress. They walk up to a Sliding
Glass Door. Megan opens it. SOUND of "COOL JAZZ" drifts
out.

Go on in.
Sarah hesitates a beat, then proceeds.
int. living room - night
As Sarah comes through the other side of the Door, she is
now wearing a simple, but elegant Long Evening Dress. Megan
follows her in, similarly attired. The Room is a large,
elegant space. The Walls are covered with Paintings and
Photos, and a number of "Realist Type" Sculptures are
placed around the Room. A FEW DOZEN MEN and WOMEN, 20's
to 50's, all very Attractive and Well Dressed, stand or sit
throughout the Room, talking and drinking. They all begin
to look at Sarah. They smile warmly, many of them nodding
slightly, as if they know her. As Megan leads her into the
Room, Sarah returns the smiles a bit uncertainly. Then she
begins to look at the Artwork, stops her in her tracks,
"wide-eyed". All the Paintings, Photos, Sculptures, are
Representations of Sarah. Stunned, she turns to Megan.

Who's house is this?
Megan
(smiles brightly)
It's our house.
Sarah looks at her in shock. Suddenly, a GORGEOUS YOUNG
MAN, 20's, wearing a White "Servers" Jacket, presents them
with a Silver Tray full of Martinis. He smiles at Sarah
with just a hint of coyness.

Sarah looks at him blankly, then gives him a distracted
smile, takes a Martini. Megan takes one also.

He looks at Megan, who nods. He then moves on to the other
guests. Sarah watches him go, seems about to speak when a
GORGEOUS YOUNG WOMAN, 20's, in a White "Servers" Jacket,
approaches with a Silver Tray full of Canapes. She smiles
at Sarah with just a hint of coyness.

The Room is Darkened. After a beat, the Door opens and
light pours in. Megan and Sarah enter. Megan closes the
door, turns on the light. The Room is Big, with Plush
Carpeting and Wall Sconces, but the "centerpiece" is a Huge
Painting of Sarah as a "Golden Goddess" that hangs above
the head of a Large Bed. Sarah regards it with amazement.

The Room is Full of Burning Candles. The Tub is filled with
Blood. As Sarah approaches the Tub, the Surface begins to
Bubble. Suddenly, Megan's head emerges from the Blood.
Sarah backs away, as Megan raises up out of the Tub, Naked
and Bruised. Sarah backs up against a Wall. Megan 'floats'
across the Room towards Sarah, dripping Blood, her EYES
BLACK.

Sarah seems paralyzed as Megan 'drifts' up against her,
face to face.
megan
(demonic)

Megan kisses Sarah deeply, smearing Blood all over her.

Theresa sits in her Bed, smoking a Cigarette, staring off
into space. The SOUND of an AWFUL SCREAM makes her Jump.

Sarah wanders through the Empty Room. The Furniture, the

Sarah stands in the middle of the empty room, looks around

Sarah stands in the doorway, looks at the Tub like her
heart is breaking.

After that, we drifted apart.

It's a cool little Club. Gretchen fronts a ROCK BAND on a
Small Stage. She's singing a "tough" Rock Ballad about
"lost little girls".

Gretchen started her own band, got picked
up by an indie label.
The Crowd is clapping and smiling and "bopping".

Theresa sits in a Patio Chair on a wide Wooden Porch,
wearing her "Lucky Smock", stares blankly out at the Ocean.
There is a Painting on an Easel across the Porch from her.
Sarah (v.o.)
Theresa married Bobby and became a successful
painter.
Bobby comes out onto the Porch, crouches next to her, looks
at her with concern. She 'comes back', gives him a happy
smile. He smiles, 'pecks' her on the cheek. Then they both
look at the Painting, their expressions sober. The PAINTING
is a Graphic Surrealist Portrait of Megan as a 'Crucified'
Rock n' Roll Angel in Black Leather.

Sarah sits in the Bed, her knees tucked to her chest, the
Sheet around her, looking at the MAN sleeping next to her.

I went through a bunch of men..
The MAN, 40's, is Huge, "tons" of Muscles, Shaved Head,
Pierced Nipples, Covered with Tattoos. He sleeps like a
happy baby. Sarah regards him with Horror.

It's a very Lush, Expensive Room, with a Bed the size of a
football field. Sarah is spread out naked, with a WOMAN,
40's, intense, attractive, wearing Black Leather Pants and
Halter Top lounging next to her.

The Woman slowly runs a Riding Crop up the inside of
Sarah's Thigh. The Woman smiles wickedly at Sarah, who

place is a Mess. She looks like shit, is Very Drunk, Crying

It's a plain, medium sized Room, with a Long Table in the

Sarah is one of a DOZEN MEN and WOMEN sitting at the Table
with Scripts in hand. They read to each other. (We don't
hear them)

It's a very comfortable, Well-Furnished Room. It's RAINING
outside. Sarah sits on a Couch opposite GUY JOHNSON, 35,
very handsome, very masculine. He looks at her expectantly.
Sarah holds a small Ring Box in her hands. Slowly, she
opens it, revealing a Diamond Engagement Ring.

on the floor next to her. She has 'tied off', is getting
ready to 'shoot up'. Suddenly, she looks up. Sarah stands
in the Bathroom doorway. She looks as though she doesn't
know whether to cry, or to scream. Megan seems consumed
with shame, fumbles with the Needle. Sarah rushes across
the Bathroom, grabs Megan by the shoulders, hauls her to
her feet. Sarah cries with rage, shakes Megan violently.

Very Hot Water runs into the Tub. Steam fills the Room.
Megan is lighting Candles and Incense. A SAD, MOODY ROCK

totally fogged up. Megan wipes a space clear with her hand,
looks at her Reflection, pops a handful of Pills, washes

BEAUITFUL HOUSE overlooking the Ocean. There seems to be
a 'low key party' in progress. They walk up to a Sliding
Glass Door. Megan opens it. SOUND of "COOL JAZZ" drifts
out.

Sarah hesitates a beat, then proceeds.

As Sarah comes through the other side of the Door, she is
now wearing a simple, but elegant Long Evening Dress. Megan
follows her in, similarly attired. The Room is a large,
elegant space. The Walls are covered with Paintings and
Photos, and a number of "Realist Type" Sculptures are
placed around the Room. A FEW DOZEN MEN and WOMEN, 20's
to 50's, all very Attractive and Well Dressed, stand or sit
throughout the Room, talking and drinking. They all begin
to look at Sarah. They smile warmly, many of them nodding
slightly, as if they know her. As Megan leads her into the
Room, Sarah returns the smiles a bit uncertainly. Then she
begins to look at the Artwork, stops her in her tracks,
"wide-eyed". All the Paintings, Photos, Sculptures, are
Representations of Sarah. Stunned, she turns to Megan.

Sarah looks at her in shock. Suddenly, a GORGEOUS YOUNG
MAN, 20's, wearing a White "Servers" Jacket, presents them

Painting of Sarah as a "Golden Goddess" that hangs above
the head of a Large Bed. Sarah regards it with amazement.

The Door into the Living Room opens, revealing all the
Guests gathered by it. They regard Sarah lovingly.

Sarah rushes to the Door, slams it shut, turns to Megan.
Sarah
(enraged)
This isn't love! This is fucking blood
sucking!
Sarah stalks toward Megan and the Servers, who now stand.
Sarah
You don't love me. You just want to feed
off of me. I know this shit, I've had it
all my life, and I don't want it!
Megan and the Servers smile serenely at her, but their EYES
have turned TOTALLY BLACK.
megan
You're wrong. We only want to love you.
Sarah appears on the verge of violence.
Sarah
I DON'T WANT THIS!! YOU'RE ALL JUST FUCKING
VAMPIRES!
Megan and the Servers advance toward Sarah.

(calmly)

The Bedroom Door opens and the Guests begin to enter.

(rhythmically)

Sarah backs up towards another Door across the Bedroom,
then turns and runs for it.

The Door opens, Sarah bursts into the Room, slams the Door
shut, leans against it, breathing heavily. Then she real-
izes where she is.
Sarah
(softly)
Oh, fuck.
The Room is Full of Burning Candles. The Tub is filled with
Blood. As Sarah approaches the Tub, the Surface begins to
Bubble. Suddenly, Megan's head emerges from the Blood.
Sarah backs away, as Megan raises up out of the Tub, Naked
and Bruised. Sarah backs up against a Wall. Megan 'floats'
across the Room towards Sarah, dripping Blood, her EYES
BLACK.

(demonic)
I died for you..
Sarah seems paralyzed as Megan 'drifts' up against her,
face to face.
megan
(demonic)
..and now you're mine.
Megan kisses Sarah deeply, smearing Blood all over her.
int. theresa's bedroom - night
Theresa sits in her Bed, smoking a Cigarette, staring off
into space. The SOUND of an AWFUL SCREAM makes her Jump.
int. sarah's bedroom - night
Sarah is Thrashing about in her bed Screaming Insanely.
Theresa and Gretchen rush into the Room and comfort her.

IT'S NOT MY FAULT! I DIDN'T KILL HER! I'M
SORRY! I DIDN'T MEAN TO HURT ANYONE! I'M

Sarah Sobs violently. Theresa and Gretchen hold her.
int. the kitchen - day
Sarah, Theresa, and Gretchen sit at the Big Table. They
look Drained. Their Faces are Blank, their Eyes are Puffy
and Red. No one says anything.
int. the "Italian" hallway - day
C/U of "ITALIAN" MURAL: A Paint roller starts spreading
White Paint across it.
int. the living room - day
Sarah wanders through the Empty Room. The Furniture, the
Mirrors, the X-mas Lights are gone. The Walls and Ceiling
are Painted White.
int. sarah's bedroom - day
Sarah stands in the middle of the empty room, looks around
wistfully.
int. the big bathroom - day
Sarah stands in the doorway, looks at the Tub like her
heart is breaking.
Sarah (v.o.)
After that, we drifted apart.
int. music club - night
It's a cool little Club. Gretchen fronts a ROCK BAND on a
Small Stage. She's singing a "tough" Rock Ballad about
"lost little girls".
Sarah (v.o.)
Gretchen started her own band, got picked
up by an indie label.
The Crowd is clapping and smiling and "bopping".
ext. beach house - day
Theresa sits in a Patio Chair on a wide Wooden Porch,
wearing her "Lucky Smock", stares blankly out at the Ocean.
There is a Painting on an Easel across the Porch from her.
Sarah (v.o.)
Theresa married Bobby and became a successful
painter.
Bobby comes out onto the Porch, crouches next to her, looks
at her with concern. She 'comes back', gives him a happy
smile. He smiles, 'pecks' her on the cheek. Then they both
look at the Painting, their expressions sober. The PAINTING
is a Graphic Surrealist Portrait of Megan as a 'Crucified'
Rock n' Roll Angel in Black Leather.
int. bedroom - day
Sarah sits in the Bed, her knees tucked to her chest, the
Sheet around her, looking at the MAN sleeping next to her.
Sarah (v.o.)
I went through a bunch of men..
The MAN, 40's, is Huge, "tons" of Muscles, Shaved Head,
Pierced Nipples, Covered with Tattoos. He sleeps like a
happy baby. Sarah regards him with Horror.
int. bedroom - night
It's a very Lush, Expensive Room, with a Bed the size of a
football field. Sarah is spread out naked, with a WOMAN,
40's, intense, attractive, wearing Black Leather Pants and
Halter Top lounging next to her.
Sarah (v.o.)
..and a couple of women.
The Woman slowly runs a Riding Crop up the inside of
Sarah's Thigh. The Woman smiles wickedly at Sarah, who
looks both terrified and turned-on.
int. sarah's apartment - night
Sarah sits on the floor, in the middle of her "single". The
place is a Mess. She looks like shit, is Very Drunk, Crying
'buckets'.
Sarah (v.o.)
It took me a while to get my shit together.
She Screams despairingly, and throws a Wine Bottle against
the Wall. The bottle shatters. She cries harder.
int. meeting room - day
It's a Back Room in some Church. SEVERAL DOZEN MEN and
WOMEN sit in Rows of Folding Chairs.
Sarah (v.o.)
Then, I met a guy named Bill.
Sarah stands up in the center row, looks nervous.
Sarah
Hi. My name is Sarah, and I'm an alcoholic.

Hi, Sarah! Welcome!
Everyone Applauds, and Smiles at her. She smiles shyly.
int. gym - day
Sarah walks on a Treadmill, wearing Sweats, listening to a
Walkman. A HANDSOME MAN, 20's, gets on the Treadmill next
to her.
Sarah (v.o.)
And, slowly, bit by bit..
He smiles at her, and she smiles back, then seems to
'catch herself', looks away. He shrugs, looks away.
int. rehearsal hall - day
It's a plain, medium sized Room, with a Long Table in the
center.
Sarah (v.o.)
..I found my dreams. And myself.
Sarah is one of a DOZEN MEN and WOMEN sitting at the Table
with Scripts in hand. They read to each other. (We don't
hear them)
int. living room - night
It's a very comfortable, Well-Furnished Room. It's RAINING
outside. Sarah sits on a Couch opposite GUY JOHNSON, 35,
very handsome, very masculine. He looks at her expectantly.
Sarah holds a small Ring Box in her hands. Slowly, she
opens it, revealing a Diamond Engagement Ring.
Sarah
It's very beautiful.
He smiles happily.
Sarah
(closes the Box)
But, it's not for me.
guy
But, I thought you loved me?
Sarah
I do love you. I love you more than I've
ever loved anyone.
guy
Then why?
Sarah
I'm not sure how to say this. In my head,
it sounds like I'm either an egocentric
bitch, or a helpless little girl. Maybe,
it's some of both.
(sighs)
Okay. Here it is.
(holds up the Box)
I don't have time for this. It's because
I love too deeply. I'll get lost in you,
and I've worked too hard to just be myself.
I know that seems harsh, but, it's a truth
about who I am that I've paid a very high
price to learn. Please believe me, my love,
I am touched by your offer. And I can't tell
you how much I want to say "yes". But, in
the end, it wouldn't work. And we might wind
up hating each other, which would be even
sadder than my saying "no".
He looks heartbroken. She hugs him.

Don't be so sad, darling. I'm still your

They look in each other's eyes for a beat.

Cut!
The Camera pulls back to reveal a FILM CREW (including
Bobby) "wedged" into the backend of the Room. They start
moving about, talking softly.
man's voice (o.s.)
Save the rain!
Bobby moves forward to Sarah, smiling.

That was perfect, my dear.
In the background, the Rain stops.
Sarah
Let's see what it looks like on the monitor.
bobby
Well, I suppose you could do a different
version of perfect.
Sarah
(grins)
You are a way too charming son of a bitch.
Bobby grins knowingly. Sarah looks over to a WOMAN, 30,
just getting up from a Director's Chair.
Sarah
Liz, could you give me my script, please?
The Woman reaches under the Chair, retrieves a Looseleaf
Notebook, brings it to Sarah. The title on the Cover: "A
Matter of Time by Sarah Cunningham".
Sarah
Thanks.
Sarah opens it, revealing Multicolored pages, and numerous
Post-its. She finds what she's looking for, turns to Bobby.
Sarah
Now, this is what I'm concerned about..

Sarah sits in a Make-up Chair, in front of a Make-up
Mirror, reading her Script. SOUND of KNOCKING.
Sarah
Come in.
The door opens. A CLEAN CUT MAN, 30's, sticks his head in.
CLEAN CUT man
Ten minutes, Miss Cunningham.
Sarah
(smiles)
Thanks, Tommy.
He nods, closes the door.
Sarah (v.o.)
My life is good now.
She checks herself out in the Mirror, then looks at a
Framed PHOTO sitting on the Counter.
Sarah (v.o.)
But, not a day goes by that I don't think
about the four of us.
It is the PHOTO of all FOUR of the WOMEN, dressed in Black,
walking Arm in Arm, laughing, somewhere at Night.
ext. cemetery - day
It's a beautiful, well kept Cemetery. In the middle of the
Grave Stones, Sarah, Theresa, and Gretchen are having a
picnic.
Sarah (v.o.)
We still get together each year around
Megan's birthday.
The nearest Stone reads: "MEGAN MAYALL 1968-1995, BELOVED
FRIEND", and bears the "WOMAN/SHI" Symbol. There are Fresh
Flowers at the base of the Stone.
Sarah (v.o.)
Everything has changed, except our love
for each other..
They look at Books of Snapshots, Smiling and Laughing.

Theresa, Sarah, Megan and Gretchen, Dressed in Black, walk
Arm in Arm down a Hollywood Street, laughing.

Sarah sits at the Table in her Robe, drinking Tea, reading
the Script on the Table in front of her.

ext. the house - day
Sarah puts a Fed-Ex Envelope outside the Door.
int. the big bathroom - day
Sarah stands in the middle of the Room. She looks down. Max
is rubbing against her leg, purring. Sarah smiles.
cut to:
C/U of FAUCET: STEAMING HOT WATER pours into the Tub.
The Room is full of Candles.
cut to:
Sarah relaxes in the Tub, seems at peace. After a moment,
she opens her eyes. Megan stands by the Tub in her Japanese
Robe. She looks radiant. Sarah smiles. Tears run down her
cheeks. Megan kneels by the Tub.
megan
Don't cry, my love.
(gently wipes Sarah's tears)
I'm at peace now.
Sarah
I miss you.
megan
I'll be here when you need me.
She kisses Sarah very deeply, smiles softly.
megan
See?
Megan stands, lets her Robe fall to the floor, steps into
the Tub. She and Sarah embrace, kiss passionately, slip
beneath the water.

ext. underwater - day
Their naked bodies intertwined, kissing deeply, they drift
underwater in a Clear Blue Sea, Sunlight filtering down
from the surface. Then, they break the embrace, begin to
swim upward.
ext. surface of a clear blue sea - day
They splash to the Surface simultaneously, laughing and
gasping for breath. Sarah looks around in wonder. Above,
the Tropical Sun shines brightly on the gently rippling
water. In the near distance, a Shore Line, Lush Greenery
trimmed by a White Beach.
Sarah
This is so amazing.
Megan kisses her, smiles happily.
megan
And it's all ours, my love.
She begins to swim toward the Shore. Sarah swims after her.
ext. white beach - day
Megan and Sarah walk out of the gentle surf onto the White
Beach, their wet, naked bodies glistening in the Sunlight.
A Large Towel is spread on the sand. Beyond that, in the
Tree line, is a beautiful little BEACH HOUSE. Sarah and
Megan flop down on the Towel. Sarah looks around happily,
then looks at Megan with concern.
Sarah
This isn't going to get creepy, is it?
Megan
(smiles)
No. This is your dream, not mine.
Sarah
Then why are you here?
Megan presses her body against Sarah, strokes her face
tenderly.
megan
Because I love you.
They embrace and kiss passionately. The CAMERA PULLS BACK
and UP, continues on to an OVERHEAD SHOT REVEALING that
this is an Island in the Clear Blue Sea. The CAMERA KEEPS
PULLING BACK until it...
FADES TO BLACK:
int. screening room - night
SOUND of APPLAUSE as the Lights come up. Near the front
are Sarah, Gretchen, Theresa and Bobby, all in Black. They
stand and smile at the Audience. With Sarah is a BEAUTIFUL
WOMAN, 20's, a 'Megan Look-alike'. She kisses Sarah affec-
tionately.
At the back of the Room, stands Megan in her 'Club Hopping
Clothes', watching all of this with great satisfaction.
