He's a brilliant and evil man - a War Criminal for certain - but he's mostly been Of Service to The American Empire. Trump is an utterly selfish and not very bright Grifter and has zero loyalty to this country. This dichotomy now stands in stark relief.

That said, Dick Cheney is one of a dozen or so men who together are fully responsible for creating a situation that a man like Donald Trump could seize and turn to his own ends. Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan are also on that list of directly complicit men.
