~Yesterday was a minimal day, though I did get to bust my hump moving the couch to the new place. Otherwise, I did washing and bagging of clothes and towels for moving today. We didn't make the storage run because of scheduling issues. That will happen today however.

I got to sleep more, too, though that seems to have served to free up my sadness over all of this. I suppose the proximity of the final move is also doing such.

I was in the kitchen at some point and realized we'll never cook another meal in there. And Le-Le told me she fed Momma Cat last night, saying “eat up because well be gone in a few days.” That's gotten me crying. For all it's legal and structural problems, this place has been our home for five and half years and it was a safe haven for much of that time.

Being wrenched out of here like this has been brutal. I fucking hate that stupid arrogant cunt, Bette Fucking Goldenring, and I want to hurt her. Not do some postal shit which would just make her a fucking martyr, but publicly expose her for the hypocrite that she is because fuckers like her value 'looking good' over all other things in the world, even their own families.

*sigh*

I'll be okay in a while once I start doing what we need to do. That'll shift my focus and energy....

"Bastday is The Fourth Day. Bast is the ancient Egyptian Goddess of Cats and those creatures are much beloved by The Sisterhood. She is chosen because cats are very fastidious thereby symbolizing 'the finishing up of business' and also notoriously nocturnal and therefore will guide Sisters as they play with Substances and Sex though the night."

"On the Weekend, the Fourth Day is half and half; morning and early afternoon for finishing up the Work Week and the late afternoon and evening for playing and partying."

~Starting tomorrow, from I believe the 'start of business' [9am local?], we will be without Internet access until hopefully no later than Saturday evening when Le-Le can plug us back in at our new digs. Of course AT&T might screw the pooch and leave us off line until Monday. We shall see....

..this was a comment on a friend's LJ..

"I grabbed the full text of the Affordable Healthcare Act, which is NINE HUNDRED FIFTY FIVE PAGES of dense legalese, so I turned to Wikipedia. Links quick-checked, so double-check me if you want to be absolutely sure.

Let's start with the worst case scenario: You can't get affordable coverage and must take the penalty hit. Even in that case, things aren't horrible.

No penalties will be in effect until after January 1, 2014. Even then, the annual penalty will be set at 1% of annual income or $95, whichever is greater. This amount will gradually increase, reaching a maximum of $695 or 2.5% of annual income, again whichever is greater, by January 1, 2016. Note that the penalty is *per individual*, but there is a maximum per family of $2,085 or 2.5% of annual income, whichever is greater. tl;dr: No one will ever pay a penalty more than $2,085 per family per year. (Kaiser Health News)

But really, I suspect most of us would rather have insurance coverage -- the problem is finding something that's actual *coverage* and that we can afford. The Act provides for a sliding-scale subsidy program. Under the program,

1) Medicaid coverage will be expanded to cover individuals and families at or below 133% of the federal poverty level. As of 2012, these are: $11,170 for an individual, $15,130 for a couple, and $23,050 for a family of four. So Medicaid would cover an individual making $14,856, a couple making $20,123, or a family of four earning 30,656.

2) For those earning 133%-400% of the poverty level ($11,170-$44,680 for individuals, $15,130- $60,520 for couples, $23,050-$92,200 for family of four), a sliding-scale subsidy will be available to offset the cost of premiums. This is the bit I like the most: The subsidy won't be something you have to ask for on your year-end taxes; it will be implemented as a cap on your annual premium. Wikipedia has the chart, but to save you the trip, a family of four at the 150% income level would be paying at most $1,383/year in premiums (after adjustment for poverty line cut-off since the chart was made). At the top of this category, a family of four earning $92,200 a year would be paying at most 9.5% of its income in premiums, or $8,759.

3) For those at or below the 400% income level, out-of-pocket costs will also be limited, but I haven't seen much detail on how or how much.

That's all I have so far. Hope it helps! I know my self-employed wallet will be far better off come 2014."

Full Disclosure: As Le-Le is on SSDI and VA Disability and I'm on SSI, we are covered under other programs and exempted from all of this.
