Mini-Bio

~As many of you have watched me 'operate' here the past year or so, and because I shall be out in front of Pacific Dental Wednesday evening 7-9 with my oft time opponent Daniel Morski trawling for Recall signatures, I thought it polite – and efficient – to specifically share some of myself here beforehand. [I'm very big on Specificity]

Michael Varian Day is my actually name – as per FB/TOS [lol]. I was born in London, UK in 1952. As my father was an American serving in the US Air Force, I was automatically an American citizen. We move to New Your City when I was 3 and that is where I grew up. My step father was a very successful photographer – made his first million in 1960...a million bucks was actually worth something back then – and so I became Upper Middle Class.

I've traveled a fair amount and lived in the far south of Mexico in 1972/73.

I am largely self educated, starting with High School level history books when I was nine. There is a whole 'family drama/trauma' there, but we'll skip that. I suspect I've read around 50,000 books so far in my life. [still reading of course] That is the main reason why I'm such a relentless know-it-all son of bitch. Plus a 147 IQ. That should be a dozen or so points higher, but I suck at more complex math.

Moved to LA back in July, 1990 to continue my pursuit of a career as a filmmaker, the desired family business. I had a project with bankable elements attached, but could not scare up any capital to move forward. [more 'family drama/trauma' there] I diligently kept at it though, for another thirteen years...until the 'family drama/trauma' blew me into homelessness, which finally ended my filmmaker dreams and left me..well, 'broken'. [PTSD Depression, blah blah blah]

I'm still 'officially broken' hence my SSI qualification. I may have bursts of energy – such as Meta-Trolling you lot here – but I tend to crash back into my bed afterward. I expect Wednesday evening will leave me quite tired. I am totally unfit for a 'regular job'. Such would likely put me in the hospital. [that would also presume a fat old man like me could even find a job is this economy]

This is also why I can safely say I have no intention of running for any of the RSCD seats. I simply have not the stamina...and it would also screw up my SSI. On SSI, one can only make $65 per month, after which Social Security deducts fifty cents per dollar earned. Also if I was 'well enough' to run, then maybe I'm 'well enough' to get kicked off SSI, and trust me, I ain't. [there's a whole essay there about how The System traps one in a 'qualification loop' and people who could possibly 'slowly work their way out' are prevented from doing so]

I think that covers the relevant matters...though one final word:

Democracy Is Hard.

As I said above, I have studied History, Politics, Economics, Sociology and so on etc ad nausium. And I have massive amounts of free time with a high speed Internet connection to keep track of things....and I cannot. There is too gaddam much. And these days the average American has to run like hell just to stay in place...which leaves very little time to stay genuinely informed...and The Corporate Confederacy likes it just like that.

I know that while *both* Parties tell their respective bases what they want to hear, in the end they really work for their Corporate Pay Masters. Where do you think they get the money to run? A Congressional campaign costs on average $2 million..Every Two Years..and more if it is hotly contested. A Presidential campaign now costs $2 BILLION FOR EACH CANDIDATE. And some how I seriously doubt any of them are going to cough up that kind of bread for a 'socialist', ya know what I saying?

However 'grassroots' is still a place where the voters can 'keep track' and 'honestly affect the outcome'. That's a good place to work on your skill set as a Voter in a Democratic Republic. So get your asses out there and sign this Recall petition..and then pay *real* close attention to who runs next time. If you have any doubts, just review your property taxes for this last year. And do some research. https://www.facebook.com/groups/EoRbReadingRoom/

..and I'll see y'all out there on Wednesday evening. #RosamondRecall2015
