"Modern Corporate Marketing Culture is empty and soulless. It can reasonable be condemned as the ultimate Capitalist extension of so-called 'White Culture'. As such, many people who see themselves as White – a highly subjective state of being – feel rightly disconnected from it.
So they seek 'authenticity' elsewhere. Many find that in Native American Culture, with the usual weak claim of being one twentieth of this tribe or one tenth of that tribe. Real Native Americans bemoan that as 'cultural expropriation', while at the same time using it as a very effective psychological lever in their never ending culture war against the Anglo-European Civilization that dominates their former lands.
I personally do not take issue with that. I'd do exactly the same thing and I say that as an Irishman. We know a thing or two about that. Where I take issue is that such has led to a Sanctification of Native Americans, turning them into Saints, which is patent bullshit. They have all the flaws and imperfections of every other people on Planet Earth.
Again, if I was them, I'd run with that as well. All's fair in Love and War, ya know. The Irish have tried that, but our behaviors in recent history – the IRA, The Troubles, etc – kind of put a damper on that effort.
Native Americans have now had the advantage of time. Their quite normal human bad behaviors are faded in the past, while the harsh travails of their defeat is still fresh in memory and fuels the guilt of the victors.
The point here is that when any people are seen as Saints, the path to evil events is opened because then whatever they might do now becomes justified. The Europeans saw themselves in such a light and that's how we got here in the first place."
